Veronica has more than 16 years of experience in the field of drafting and developing the climate change, sustainable development, forestry and environment-related legislative, institutional and policies framework of Romania, to ensure harmonization with the most recent developments at EU and international level. She recently held the position of Coordinator of the EU Team (Lead Negotiators and technical and legal experts) for the climate change international dossiers (UNFCCC, KP, Paris Agreement) during the Romanian Presidency of the Council of the EU. During her career, she has been entrusted with key roles for the development of the national legal and policies framework in order to align with European and international legal developments. She ensured the coordination of the transposition and implementation process of the environmental EU acquis during 2004 – 2007, the accession period for Romania, as Local Legal Expert endorsed by the European Commission (DG ENV); more than 95 directives and regulations have been scrutinised and integrated into the national legislation. As part of the same multi-year project, she provided training on transposition and implementation issues to about 800 public servants, coming from various line ministries and implementation / subordinated agencies and institutions.
